United Pilot Turns Emergency Landing into Pizza Party for Stranded Passengers

When a United Airlines flight from San Francisco to Houston made an unexpected landing in Albuquerque due to a medical emergency, passengers braced for a long wait. Enter Captain Scott Wardle, the Boise-based pilot who turned a potential nightmare into a pizza party. With airport eateries closing and a new crew hours away, Wardle took matters into his own hands, ordering 30 pizzas to feed all 155 passengers. He even served the slices himself, ensuring everyone was fed before grabbing a bite. One passenger, Tanya Stamos, captured the heartwarming moment on TikTok, praising the captain’s selflessness. United Airlines commended Wardle’s actions, stating they “love to see our pilots go above and beyond for our customers when the unexpected happens.”

Wardle, an Air Force veteran, humbly downplayed the gesture, saying, “I know what it feels like to be stuck in an airport… We had to do something to show we care.”
