Breonna Taylor was an award-winning EMT and model citizen. She loved her family and community. She worked at two hospitals as an essential worker during the pandemic.
She was killed two months ago when police barged into Breonna Taylor’s home in Louisville in an attempted drug sting, and shot her eight times.
On June 5, Breonna Taylor would have been 27 years old. For weeks, the city treated Breonna like she was a criminal, calling her a “suspect” before finally admitting that she was an innocent, crimeless victim. She had no drugs. She committed no crime.
People are being encouraged to say Taylor’s name loudly and often; in the streets and online, so that in the deafening wave of dissent crashing over the country, her story is not washed away.
