This is what’s happening: People panic buy toilet paper and hand sanitizer, leading people to think there’s a long-term shortage, leading to more panic buying.
It’s OK to stockpile some supplies, and it’s understandable to prepare for an extended stay at home but hoarding is never a good idea. Just have enough food, meds and essentials for 2 weeks.
Remember that families who have food allergies and dietary restrictions are struggling to find what they need. Hoarding items like diapers creates hardships for other parents in need and people on low incomes can’t buy in bulk.
Don’t be selfish. Think of others first. It will instantly settle the fear and bring us together.
