Yale has a free class on happiness

Yale University’s most popular class in over 300 years, called “The Science of Well-Being”, is available free online .

The course will engage students in a series of challenges designed to increase their own happiness and build more productive habits. As preparation for these tasks, Professor Laurie Santos reveals misconceptions about happiness, annoying features of the mind that lead us to think the way we do, and the research that can help us change.

A recent survey found that 37% of teens say they have poor mental health. So there’s now a new version of the 6-week course aimed at teenagers, called “The Science of Well-Being for Teens.” It was developed to address rising rates of anxiety, depression and suicide rates for kids between ninth and 12th grade.
