12-Year-Old Leads Major Reforestation Effort Across India

At just 12 years old, Prasiddhi Singh has planted an astonishing 150,000 trees throughout India, founding the Prasiddhi Forest Foundation in response to a cyclone that devastated her hometown when she was seven .

Her project focuses on nurturing “fruit forests,” blending environmental restoration with community engagement and encouraging people to grow food, produce oxygen, and give back through what her team calls the “3G Network.”

Prasiddhi’s initiative has inspired volunteers across Tamil Nadu to join her mission, fostering local commitment to tree planting and ecological stewardship .

She’s become a powerful symbol of youth-led change, even speaking at UN climate summits, showing that even children can make a profound impact on environmental recovery.
